The problem with thinking you’re eating healthy is that inevitably every bad decision catches up with you. The problem with actually eating healthy is that when your gut rebels you can’t be sure of the reason.
A few weeks ago I went to the doctor because I had a spate of meals that ended with me curled on the bed in severe pain. The doctor suggested an elimination diet in order to see if the problem persists, and, if not, reintroducing known problematic foods to see which one may be causing the problem.
So I’ve been subsisting on meat, vegetables, fruit, and not much else. Which isn’t as bad as it sounds, but I am probably never going to eat an egg again after this is over.
I’ve been writing love letters to yogurt.
And then today the pain came back after breakfast. So I had tea for lunch. Because it hurt too much to eat.
I suppose this is just another facet of attaining physical health this year.
