After a consultation with my doctor about my lousy digestion, I started Whole 30, which eliminates many known gut-destroyers. Namely legumes, dairy, sugar, wheat, grains, alcohol, and probably grain alcohol, etc.
I can eat vegetables, fruit, meat, and some nuts.
The saving grace is that I can drink coffee.
It’s been two weeks and I’m doing well sticking to the program, though I ate out a few times and I can’t be positive there were no hidden issues even though I stuck to healthy in-plan options.
I’m wondering if there really is something to that whole “there’s a certain diet that corresponds to your body type” thing because eating high protein and low dairy/grains has definitely made me feel loads better. I’m, like, 25% less puffy.
Hopefully this total elimination and subsequent reintroduction phase will do what it needs to do because I really want to eat cheese again. And yogurt. And rice. And crusty baguettes like the ones that were staring me in the face at Georgetown’s French Market this weekend and why did I even go to torture myself???
